SUMMER TRIPS 2012

STUDENT
MINISTRY @ GRACE CHURCH

2012
SUMMER TRIPS

VISION           Reaching
our world one person at a time while growing as followers of Jesus Christ.

VALUES        Worship,
Grow, Serve, and Outreach

Grace Church’s student ministry places
a high priority on summer trips.  We
consider it the secret ingredient to discipleship. Year after year we see and
hear countless people credit their summer experience in their path of growth
and development. Simply put we believe that concentrated time away from our
normal lives focused on God, the lost, and ministry produces life change.

Our trips are designed to build upon
one another and the previous experiences.
Each year will require the participant to be stretched and grown in
different areas.  This path isn’t
perfect, but it’s our best shot at trying to outline a process that will grow
our students as Christ followers.

KALAHARI INFO AND DETAILS (TRAVEL ETC)

KALAHARI INFO

TRAVEL

We will meet to check in at the church on Friday February 3rd between 3 and 3:30.

We will arrive back at the church on Sunday around 2:30pm. We will have students call as they get close.

ROOMING/ADULT SUPERVISION

MS students will be in a room with 5 students and 1 adult

HS students will have one adult for every two rooms

Leaders are volunteers who serve in our ministry weekly and lead small groups, huddles etc.

All leaders have been asked to keep the weekend open and once we know student numbers and how many leaders we need, we fill spots with weekly volunteers first.

There is a place on the registration site (http://kalahari2012gracechurch.eventbrite.com/) for students to request which friends and what leaders they would like tin their room.

Local church staff will place as best they can based on where students have requested.

Students will be with their adult leader all weekend in their room, in sessions, in the waterpark, during meals, and during group discussion time. Our groups functions as a bunch of room-families that weekend rather than a large group from Grace Church.

INFO FOR LEADERS

There will be a meeting for all leaders the week before Kalahari to get organized and on the same page. This will feature your room assignment, an itinerary, and all the info you need to lead the weekend.

Unfortunately we can’t do this meeting much earlier because of the nature of the last second signups and not knowing what leaders are going. We can only take a certain amount since we cover the leaders cost at $115 a person.
